However, another way that people are making improvements is by becoming stronger mentally. You can do this if you learn to prepare your mind correctly. Golf Mental Tip#1-Stay in the Moment Whether you hit a good shot or a bad shot, learn to 'quiet' your mind immediately after striking the ball. Hit the ball and then forget about the outcome. By forcing your mind to stay in the moment, you will gradually avoid the highs and the lows that most golfing amateurs experience. In time, your scores will improve. Golf Mental Tip#2-Qui

How to Putt Better, Beginners

It's sickening to realize how many strokes are lost on the putting green. Have you ever scored a bogey or worse simply because you missed your putts on the green? It's really aggravating when you have a 2 to 7-foot putt for birdie or par and you miss it. Amateurs, including beginners, do not make putts over 8 feet on a regularly. Within 7 feet though, we should be able to make a good majority of them. We can easily improve our golf scores if we concentrate on making short putts. To become better at making short putts we need to really practice.  Practicing long and mid-range putts is important but they rarely go in on one shot. These types of putts should be practiced to get the ball within 3 feet of the hole. But we would do better if we focused the majority of our practice on short putts. Professionals know this and so it would be beneficial if we recognized this also. Many Professional golfers have missed short putts thus missing their opportunity to play on the weeken

Beginners-Improving Your Golf Swing

If you want to learn to have a better golf swing and if you want to improve your golf score then follow these tips. A good analogy for the golf swing is music. Balance, rhythm, and tempo are important in music as it is in golf. So it goes with the golf swing! The foundation of a song makes it good music. The same is true with the golf swing you must have a good foundation, namely your stance. When you practice hitting balls vary the width of your stance to find the best stance that works for you. You can do this by taking a narrow stance or by widening your stance. The majority of golfers end up with their feet about shoulders width apart from each other. Once you have found the stance that works for you then you will want to practice it over and over so that it will feel extremely natural feel to

A Putting Drill That Just Might Save You a Few Strokes

A big area that is often overlooked in golf when it comes to saving strokes is putting. This is true whether golfers can hit their golf ball a mile off the tee, whether they lack distance, accuracy, or whatever else happens between tee to green with their woods and irons. But we can all improve in golf if we diligently practice to improve our faults and build up our strengths from tee to green. But if you want a quick way to save a few strokes with your golf game take a few moments every day to focus on making short putts. All of us, at one time or another, have missed putts from 3 feet and closer. Am I correct or what? I bet that in almost every round of golf played by amateurs that we miss at least 1 putt, if not more (and I'm guessing more, at least in my case), from short distances. It drives me crazy when I reach a green in regulation and have a great chance to make a par or better and end up with a bogey or worse simply because I missed a very short putt! It almost doesn'
